Where’s Your Calm?
Maybe your happy place is a hammock on white sand beaches by the turquoise waters of Fiji.
Maybe your sense of calm comes from hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, then snuggling up next to a roaring fire in a cabin as you watch the clouds settle on the mountains.
Wherever you feel at peace, eventually you have to go home. Back to real life. Back to “reality.”
Sometimes reality is stressful and it can be easy to get wrapped up in anxiety, lose focus, and struggle with cognition and memory function.
With Relaxed Brain, you may restore balance to the body-spirit-mind and reclaim the calm that eludes you.
Bacopa for Memory Benefits, Cognition and Calm
If you’re like most people, stress can leave you frazzled, feeling unable to concentrate wholly on a single task. You might feel scattered and stretched too thin. Feeling spread out leads to anxiety, as well as forgetfulness and cognitive distraction.
Bacopa monnieri, also known as brahmi or water hyssop, is an aquatic plant grown in the tropics and subtropics. It has been used as far back as the 6th century in the Indian medical practice known as Ayurvedic medicine. This discipline focuses on the mind-body-spirit connection and proposes that all three must be in balance and harmony for longevity and good quality of life.
Why Use a Bacopa Memory Supplement?
Bacopa may benefit the mind-body-spirit connection through the following ways.
- Dementia & Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia may benefit from daily bacopa supplements. Bacopa is thought to reduce inflammation and increase synaptic activity in the brain, including speed. Animal studies using bacopa for dementia and Alzheimer’s have shown some promising results, although substantive human studies have yet to be undertaken.
- Chronic Pain and Depression. In the midst of a national opioid crisis, bacopa may offer a beacon of hope. An astonishing (though certainly understandable) 77% of those with chronic pain also report a degree of medically treatable depression. Bacopa supplements may relieve some pain and depression. Not only does bacopa contain a strong antidepressant/anti-anxiety property; bacopa is also thought to reduce pain perception. Unlike morphine and other opioids, bacopa is not known to have dangerous properties, such as tolerance build-up or addictive factors.
- ADHD. In children, adolescents and even adults, ADHD can present a very real challenge to learning, memory and focusing on tasks. A study published in the Indian Journal of Psychiatry (Oct. – Dec. 2006), showed bacopa had a significant improvement on mental control, logical memory, and paired associated learning. This double-blind randomized study also proved bacopa has a long-term effect, as tests were repeated and evaluated four weeks after bacopa use stopped. (The supplement was provided for twelve weeks.)
Faster Is Better with Bacopa Supplements
I know, I know… “slow and steady wins the race.” But not so much when it comes to brain activity. Bacopa elevates and speeds up neurotransmitter activity within the brain. This increased activity leads to the body’s natural production of serotonin, a “feel-good” chemical that stabilizes mood, regulates anxiety and reduces depression. Faster neurotransmitters also improve focus and battle brain fog and age-related cognitive decline.
Instead of using artificial stimulants such as energy drinks, pharmaceuticals or alcohol to manage cognitive decline, depression and other brain-related conditions, talk to your doctor about supplementing with bacopa, one of the three primary ingredients found in Relaxed Brain.
You just may be able to take that mental time-out you need to function your best… without a trip across the world.
