- Why people love virtual training and assessments
Bob Hutchins: Mickey, you go through this experience in your young life, you've had obviously some accidents, played football, you've banged your head a lot. You feel like because of stress and other things, it caught up with you. And as a result, you said, "I'm going to get to the bottom of this." You started searching, and searching, and searching. You found some things that worked for you. You've shared them with other people, worked with Dr. Phil to perfect them. And you thought, "Now can I share this with the world?" Is that kind of how it all went?
Mickey Mitchell: That's exactly how it went.
Bob Hutchins: Okay. And so now you have BIPRI.
Mickey Mitchell: I do.
Bob Hutchins: And we're launching it to the world and we're excited about that. Talk a little bit about what you hope that people will get when they walk away from BIPRI, or they come in contact with BIPRI, and learn about these tools for a healthier brain, depending on whatever their needs are. Maybe they've had a concussion, they've had a child that's had a concussion, they have an aging parent that's starting to suffer from dementia. Or maybe you just want to have a clearer brain. What does BIPRI offer that they can't find somewhere else?
Mickey Mitchell: You know there's a book, and within the book it says there's nothing new under the sun.
Bob Hutchins: Yeah.
Mickey Mitchell: And we know what that book is.
Bob Hutchins: Yeah, exactly.
Mickey Mitchell: And and so BIPRI: it has nothing that's new. Any supplement that we have, you can go else places, and get a supplement. The exercise plan, you can Google more exercises than you can do in a lifetime. And the brain games, you can go get them yourself. And our vibration headbands, and the vibration helmet, everything that we have is out there.
Mickey Mitchell: And there's several examples that I can use, but Dave Ramsey would be one that most everybody is aware of. Nothing that Dave Ramsey has is unique or brand new. But his complete comprehensive plan that he puts together so well... if you follow it, then you succeed. So what BIPRI offers is a comprehensive plan that will succeed.
Mickey Mitchell: But the one thing... I don't know of a plan out there like BIPRI's. There's not one that we can find.
Bob Hutchins: A protocol?
Mickey Mitchell: A protocol. There's pieces of it.
Bob Hutchins: Sure.
Mickey Mitchell: So, we're offering a comprehensive plan that if you follow it, it'll work. But now here's the key ingredient, that I would like for everyone to hear from the founder. Whenever I was experiencing what I was experiencing, I would not tell a soul on the planet what I was experiencing because I didn't want to come across as weak. I didn't want to come across as crazy because the brain scans showed I was okay, and from a physical aspect I looked okay, so you didn't want to tell anybody about it. And so that puts you on an island, and so you're living your life alone and you lose hope.
Mickey Mitchell: The one thing that BIPRI offers to everybody that comes along and attaches themselves to BIPRI – it's giving them hope, that whenever you wake up in the morning, and you put on your headband, and you do your virtual exercise program with your buddies that have the same problem that you do, that you can talk about it, and you're taking your supplements, then what happens is that your body heals itself.
Bob Hutchins: Right.
Mickey Mitchell: BIPRI is not going to heal anybody. Your body is made to heal itself. So it's whenever you give your body what it needs, it heals itself. And so if we eat properly, you don't need supplements. But whenever you're not going to follow a strict diet plan, you should take supplements.
Mickey Mitchell: The thing that I say is a complete must is the vibrations to your head. And I used different things, so if somebody wants to go out here and go to Walmart, and buy something that will vibrate your brain, go buy it, save some money. I'm not trying to put together something that makes me more money, but we've got to make money to stay in business. But what we're offering people is something that is to help everyone that struggles with something between their ears.
Bob Hutchins: That's good.
Mickey Mitchell: And so that's our plan for BIPRI.
Bob Hutchins: Yeah, that's great.
Mickey Mitchell: A comprehensive program that gives them hope. That they wake up with something, and they go to bed with something to work on, and then your body just does the magic itself.
Bob Hutchins: What I have appreciated working at BIPRI, and as we continue to push forward, and tell the world about what we have to offer, is we're not selling some kind of snake oil and saying, "Hey take this pill and it'll cure your ills." What BIPRI is about is tools for a healthier brain, and everybody's different and unique, and they have different needs. And we're not just peddling some sort of fish oil. Although we have that, not just multi nootropic vitamins, although we have that, not just vibrations for the head, although we have that.
Bob Hutchins: We're offering a complete package and we have people that are available to talk to you, that'll say, "What is it that you're struggling with? What is it that you need specifically?" Because we realize everybody's different. And I think that's what I appreciate about BIPRI, that you can't really find out there.
Bob Hutchins: Everybody's saying that their bottle of supplements is their cure-all. And we don't say that. We say if you want a good supplement, if you want a good probiotic because it does affect your brain, we've got it. But we are open to people going much deeper than that.
Bob Hutchins: Talk about our clinic and our doctors. I know for you, it wasn't enough for you to just create something that was a natural alternative. You also wanted to have science behind it because we were going to be able to prove. I think that's one of the problems that I've heard you talk about, is that today when you go to a doctor, what do they tell you if you say, "Hey, my son's had a concussion," what's your experience with a typical doctor?
Mickey Mitchell: Well, go back to 2009, when I went to the first doctor, and I told him my symptoms, and he did a brain MRI on me. And I was diagnosed with lesions on the brain. Leave there, you're freaked out, and you have to wait six months to see the change in the lesions to figure out what I had, but everything that would be your worst nightmare was told that you could be coming down with.
Mickey Mitchell: When I went to the doctor, and he tells me I had the lesions on the brain, he comes in, he says, "Mr. Mitchell, here's your report. And we need to wait six months. We'll do another one. And when we compare those two, we'll get a plan of action, but have a good day." And he walks out.
Mickey Mitchell: Well, you're sitting there with this in your lap, you've gone to the best of the best. So you get great information, but you're a basket case as he walks out the door.
Mickey Mitchell: Then six months later I go in, and he says, "Well, Mr. Mitchell, I've got great news for you. Your report now comes back that it must've been shadowing. Your brain is normal. Good to see you." And he walks out the door. Now then, here's what you've just learned, all the symptoms that you've had before you came, that you still have, and now that he's walked out the door because I have a good brain, and he's gone out the door, and you still have nothing. You have nothing.
Mickey Mitchell: And now then whenever we have BIPRI, and we put BIPRI together, and then we find a doctor that hears about it and says, "Oh my gosh." And so we walk in to have our first meeting with our doctor and she is fabulous. All of our doctors are. But this was the first one. And I asked her, I said, "Doc, whenever you diagnose someone with a concussion and they leave your office, what do they leave with?" And she goes, "Nothing." And I said, "Well then how do you know when they're getting better?" And she goes, "They stop coming." So there's a need there.
Mickey Mitchell: And so for us, we brought the doctors onboard because whenever you have a problem, oh my gosh, you want the doctor.
Bob Hutchins: That's right.
Mickey Mitchell: And whether they spend any time with you or not, at the end of the day, I want them. And I want the best of the best, and usually the best of the best are so busy, they don't have time to love on you and grab you. And so, but at the end of the day, they're invaluable. And so for us to come along with the doctor community, with the medical community and say, "Hey, we're not medical. We're not healing, but we can take something and give your patients hope. And we can give your patients a wellness plan, that they can start taking care of their brain, which there's bits and pieces out there, but there's not a comprehensive program out there."
Mickey Mitchell: And then here's the other part that is so exciting about by BIPRI: when you talk about our doctors and our nutritionists, and our holistic staff, and our virtual program, on our third pillar we have the exercise and fitness, and virtual part of it. So not only will you be able to come online and schedule a virtual trainer, a virtual BIPRI trainer, to train you while you're doing your program at whatever level that you want to be trained at. But we have a basic start out level, that basically centers around blood flow to your brain.
Mickey Mitchell: But on that same program, we'll have doctors that are virtual doctors, virtual nutritionists. We'll have all kinds of specialists for whenever you really don't want to wait six months or two months to go to a doctor.
Bob Hutchins: That's great.
Mickey Mitchell: You can come online and you can say, "I just want to talk to a doctor about my son that has a concussion." And you can come online, you can schedule a time to talk to one of our doctors, and they can talk to you on the phone, and give you some insight and some relief, and some hope for what's going on.
Bob Hutchins: That's beautiful. That's beautiful. One of the things that we say is “tools for a healthier brain.” We've talked a little bit about supplements today, but we've got some technology that's really cool. We've got the ability to measure both visually and scientifically with EEG type electronic measurements so that a doctor can actually get a baseline.
Bob Hutchins: We've got the ability to visualize that. So you know, if you have had a brain injury, you can go and find out, and see what's going on. And then see the progress later and get another one to see if it's really helped. That baseline also comes in handy when you have a child that's playing sports, and you want to have a baseline in case, God forbid, he does have a concussion or some head injury. Then you can really see from his normal brain or his or her injured brain… "Hey, what's really going on? What's happened?" So we offer that as well.
Bob Hutchins: So it's exciting to see the technology that's coming out and to be able to be on the cutting edge of that. Because like you said, the frustration is there's not a lot of hope many times when you go see a doctor and they say, "Well yeah, you bonked your head pretty bad, go take some Ibuprofen and rest a little bit." And then years later go through what you've been through.
Mickey Mitchell: That's right. That's exactly right. Early on we saw the need in having our own baseline test. And so we have spent a lot of time and energy on it. And the gentleman that has worked on our baseline test, worked 10 years of his life on developing tests.
Mickey Mitchell: So now he has developed a baseline test that we do in writing. That test is for taking a baseline. If you get concussed, then you retake it and find out what your progress is, like what you explained.
Mickey Mitchell: The other thing is in our other aging program – you can take the baseline test and then once you get on our program, you can see if you're progressing. But now just recently we're coming out with our new helmet, our new BIPRI Helmet, like you talked about, that has the imaging on it that you can't fool. You can't take the test there.
Mickey Mitchell: Whenever I did it the first time, I hadn't talked a lot about the accident that I had when I was 14 years old, because I didn't know. I bumped my head so many times, who knows which one did it? When I took that for the first time, it showed up that I’d had trauma to the front right of my frontal lobe – damage there.
Mickey Mitchell: And whenever our technician asked me had I had that trauma, I showed him the knot that has been there on the front of my head since I was 14 years old. And so that alone, we have enough data to show that our product is head and shoulders above anything out there. It's just the cutting edge – and not to knock anybody else out there. Just that we're on the cutting edge of testing the brain. That just completely solidified our product, that it showed my brain having a blue area right there where my brain was hit. And so I would say that most likely that's where my problems originated from, is that wreck that I had, and that head trauma when I was fourteen years old.
Bob Hutchins: We've seen and heard those stories many times of people who use this technology to be able to see and say, "It appears as though this area of your brain has something going on, and this is the area of the brain that affects this, this, and this." And nine times out of ten, the person will say, "Yeah, exactly. I am having that problem."
Bob Hutchins: And so the beautiful thing about it is to be able to get people on a protocol, and then see if there's change. And we're just seeing some really cool things. People who have gone through the protocols so far, while we've been in our testing phases, are having some great results and testimonials. So lots of great things to come. So, Mickey, thanks for talking. I appreciate it.
Mickey Mitchell: Thank you, Bob. I appreciate it.
